Roll Manufacturing Process
①Breaking: The commonly used materials for roll raw materials are Cr12Mov, SKD11, and D2.
②Rough machining: initial roll forming
③Fine machining: Use CNC machining equipment to improve the surface roughness, control the tolerance range, and control the tolerance difference unit within ±0.02mm to improve the precision.
④Polishing: polishing the surface of the roll.
⑤Heat treatment: Guanjie uses heat treatment to improve the hardness of the rolls.
⑥ Refinishing: Accurate roll density and reduce specification error of high frequency welded pipe.
⑦Horizontal die grinding inner hole.
⑧ Vertical die-turning bearing hole.
⑨Horizontal die-cut keyway: fix the position of the roll on the high-frequency welded pipe unit.
⑩Quality inspection.

Selected raw materials – EBT primary refining – LF refining – vacuum degassing – casting molding – electro slag remelting – forging – spheroidizing annealing – rough machining – quenching and tempering (quenching + high-temperature tempering) – semi-finishing – flaw detection – pre-processing Heat Treatment – Double Frequency Quenching – Cold Treatment – Low-Temperature Tempering – Finishing – Hardness, Ultrasonic, and Metallography – Packaging and Factory.
2. Production process of cold rolled backup roll
Selected raw materials – EBT primary refining – LF refining – vacuum degassing – casting molding – forging – spheroidizing annealing – semi-finishing – quenching and tempering (quenching + high-temperature tempering) – flaw detection – split furnace quenching – tempering – refining Processing-Hardness, Ultrasonic and Metallography-Packaging, and Factory.
3. Most of the alloy cast steel rolls are integral cast rolls.
The traditional production process adopts roll body cold sanding, bottom injection, and normalizing and tempering heat treatment. It is mainly used for the production of carbon steel rolls and ordinary alloy cast steel rolls used in ordinary 3-high section steel rolling mills and double bar and wire rod rolling mills. In order to strengthen the roll body performance of the alloy cast steel roll and obtain a good casting structure of the working layer of the roll body, most of them are changed from cold-form hanging sand to cold-form spray coating, and the riser feeding adopts the electric heating process. With the improvement of the degree, the heat treatment of the roll increases the process means such as high-temperature diffusion and spheroidization.
